Iqonga Arts Centre

Youth development through music education and life skills. We teach theory to instruments like violins, cellos and more.

The problem we aim to solve:

We believe we can change our community by creating a love for music in our youth through a platform that builds confidence and nurtures talent. Music is able to unite communities across their differences and it is universal language. Music helps with a child's brain development and problem solving.

The solution our project offers:

Reducing the crime rates and eliminate boredom in the youth and give them a positive focus. This centre will give hope to the kids of disadvantaged areas as we do not have music education on government schools compared to privates. A fun and practical way of educating youth through what they love.

The impact our project had so far:

2016 we were able to partner with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and we took 40 kids from Khayelitsha to them.
